Just enough time left to get in a 2nd helping of tasty vinyl for March before I pull together my top tips for Record Store Day releases in April.
Number #1 goes to the ace hip hop comp by Sean P Boogie on BBE Records. Plus there is goodness from Woolfy, Francis Inferno Orchestra, Dego & Theo Parrish, Disco Boogie Classics, Chicago Damn, MERC, Al Gobi, and Cottam.
Check for a tasy LP from Max Graef, singles from Chris Massey, Hardwax, Frankie Knuckles, Moodymann, Jay Daniel and represses of the sought after M+M Mixes from John Morales.
There's forthcoming deepness from Marcellus Pittman, Fela action from Mŗ Mendel, house vibes from Simba Selecta and Boogie Nite, afrobeat from Seun Anikulapo Kuti and Harry Mosco on Secret Stash Records. Plus that Medlar & Red Rack'em single on Phonica!

Expect nu disco, funk, house, techno, boogie, soul and some hip hop towards the end of the show.

A mixed bag of brand new killers, essential restocks, tried and tested classics and forthcoming gems. Number #1 spot goes to Detroit newcomer and Theo Parrish prodigy Jay Daniel...
Jay's debut 12" on Sound Signature turned heads immediately. He's also a resident at Detroit party Fundamentals alongside Kyle Hall. Credentials in the bag then.

On this week's show we have a Cottam special. There is a wedge of his new & forthcoming tracks in the first hour. In the 2nd hour he takes to the decks with a set put together especially for the show.
After dj'ing and tinkering since the age of 14, Cottam burst onto the scene in 2009 with the release of three 12"s of quality deep house music. His brand of house music takes influences from soul, hiphop, afrobeat, disco, dub and techno.
Prolific since the start, Cottam's back catalogue is bulging. In March 2014 he releases his debut 12" on his own Ruff Draft label, and there is a two tracker on the new Machine label. In April his Ruff Treatment mix of Al Gobi's Cup Of Tea comes out on Constant State.
